Why? Universal-primed surfaces, like gesso, are semi-absorbent, even when plate-smooth. This absorbency causes some oil paint to sink into the primer, dulling the image and making blending harder. While you can apply an underpainting oil ground over a universal-primed canvas to mitigate this, it’s time-consuming and expensive.

Our oil-primed surfaces are different. The exclusive OP Enhanced Oil Priming chemically bonds with oil paint, creating a non-absorbent surface that allows paint to sit vibrantly on top with optimal refraction and color brilliance. If you use high-quality oil colors, we urge you to pair them with an oil-primed surface—and now, we’ve made it affordable! Introducing Centurion Deluxe Professional Oil-Primed Linen Panels, designed specifically for oil painters. These panels feature a superbly receptive surface that accepts even the thinnest oil color layers without fragmenting, ensuring colors adhere better than on any other oil-primed canvas on the market. Acid-free and archival, the medium-textured linen is cleanly wrapped and adhered to a solid 3mm MDF wood board for durability.

About This Item

Features: Acid-free, archival linen panels; 11 oz. oil-primed, medium-weight linen; exclusive OP Enhanced Oil Priming; mounted on 3mm (1/8") MDF wood board; medium weight and texture; non-warping.

Perfect For: Artists of all skill levels, oil and alkyd painting, archival longevity, linen enthusiasts expecting the best, professional artists, commissioned work, and travel.

OP Enhanced Priming: Our exclusive Enhanced Oil Priming ensures fantastic color retention for every panel.

Travel-Friendly: These premium-quality linen panels take up just a quarter of the space of a 3/4" canvas, making them ideal for easy storage and travel—whether you’re heading to an art show, painting en plein air, or chasing inspiration on the go!

https://huntsvilleartsupplies.sbs/products/centurion-deluxe-professional-oil-primed-linen-canvas-panels
